Autism West will re-commence face-to-face services in time for the July school holidays, with Term 3 services starting on 20 July. We are closely monitoring developments relating to COVID-19 and follow the latest advice from government and health authorities. Step Into Social is a social group for young adults 18-30 on the autism spectrum.
Now running 4 groups fortnightly on a Saturday, Step Into Social provides a space in Fremantle, Marangaroo, Rockingham and South Fremantle for individuals to hang out, to have fun, and to meet people with similar interests.
Using a strengths-based approach, the overall aim is to engage and motivate, connect, and to build feelings of self-worth.
Step Into Social is run with the active involvement of group members, with Autism West staff facilitating activities the group members agree on. These groups are great places to develop friendships while enjoying various activities, meals and excursions, and where possible, we support the delivery of special projects such as coding, art and film-making.
